Description

Pendleside Hospice provides specialist palliative and end of life care to adults across Burnley and Pendle, supporting local people and their families when they need it most.

All our hospice care is provided free of charge to patients and their families. However, providing this care comes at a significant cost. It costs £6.8 million each year to keep Pendleside Hospice running, with £5.4 million needing to be raised through the generosity of our local community.

Our 9 charity shops across Burnley and Pendle play a vital role in helping us raise these funds. During 2025/26, our retail team generated an incredible £950,236 in income for the Hospice. This wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated volunteers, generous donors and wonderful shoppers.

The role of a Retail Support Driver

Driving our furniture van, you’ll be delivering to and collecting furniture from our customers across Burnley and Pendle; as well as delivering stock from our distribution centre to our nine shops and supporting their day to day requirements. We also welcome volunteer driver’s mates, to sit with the driver and assist with duties.

You can commit as little as half a day per week- your support would be invaluable to us!

There are many benefits to volunteering including building new friendships, attending social events, gaining work experience, providing much needed support, and of course contributing to an amazing cause! Volunteering is rewarding, enjoyable and a worthwhile way to spend your free time.

For more information you can either speak to your local shop manager or contact:
