Pendleside Hospice launches Pennies for Pendleside to inspire the next generation of fundraisers 

Pendleside Hospice is inviting children and families across Burnley and Pendle to get involved in its new fundraising initiative, helping to support local patients and their families, one penny at a time.

Every penny counts, and now children can play their part in supporting their local hospice with the launch of Pennies for Pendleside.

The new initiative gives children the chance to adopt their very own purple piggy bank, take it home and fill it with spare change. It is a simple, fun way for families to get involved in fundraising while helping children discover the difference their kindness can make to people in their community.

Every piggy bank returned will help Pendleside Hospice continue providing care, comfort and support to local people and their families when they need it most.

Every penny raised helps Pendleside Hospice continue providing vital care and support to local people and their families. This includes care for patients staying on the Inpatient Unit, nursing care and support in the comfort of their own homes through Hospice at Home, and Family Support and Bereavement services for adults, children and families affected by a bereavement.

Through Pennies for Pendleside, children can learn more about the Hospice and how their pennies help make this care possible.

There are exciting milestones for young fundraisers to work towards, with surprise rewards when they raise £50, £100 and £150! Once the pennies have been counted by the Pendleside Hospice team, we’ll be in touch to let you know about your surprise reward.

Getting involved is easy:

• Adopt a piggy. Visit any Pendleside Hospice retail shop or the Hospice reception to collect a purple piggy bank and adoption pack.

• Fill it with spare change. Take your piggy home and add pennies whenever you can. Every coin helps!

• Work towards your rewards. Keep collecting and look forward to a surprise reward when you reach each fundraising milestone of £50, £100 and £150.

• Bring your piggy back. Once it is full, return it to any Pendleside Hospice retail shop or the Hospice reception. The team will empty your piggy and count how much has been raised.

Keep collecting! Take your piggy home and fill it again to help raise even more money for Pendleside Hospice.

Pennies for Pendleside is also a chance for parents to introduce their children to the work of their local hospice and talk about the importance of caring for others. By getting involved from a young age, children can see how small acts of kindness bring people together and help Pendleside continue supporting local patients and their loved ones.
