Robyn Pinder's Braintree to Birtwistle
In September (14th-21st) I’m running from Braintree in Essex to Birtwistle Avenue in Colne (Lancashire) in memory of Dave’s brother Bobby, who passed away from a brain tumour just over two years ago.
The run itself is a grand total of 401.83KM (250 miles). Braintree is where Bobby lived and Birtwistle Avenue in Colne is where he grew up. I’m doing it over eight days – averaging around 50K a day for the first seven, with a marathon to finish on the eighth day.
Robyn is raising money for five charlties in total, if you wish to donate please visit her Go Fund Me page:

Samantha's Yorkshire 3 Peak Challenge
I will be taking part in an organised Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge walking 24 miles over the 3 highest mountains in Yorkshire.
I am walking in Memory of my much loved mum who i still miss every single day the lovely Patricia or Pat as many people knew her, she sadly lost her battle to Cancer on 11th June 1998 aged 54 years old , without the support that Pendleside offered to my mum and also to our family we would have been lost. Thankyou is not enough.....so when my friends asked me to join them in the challenge i felt quite guilty as i had never completed any event in memory of my mum, so at the ripe old age of 51 I'm going to give it my best shot......fingers crossed.
If you wish to support Samantha please visit her Just Giving page Samantha Fergusson is fundraising for Pendleside Hospice (justgiving.com) where you can also find full details on why Samantha and her two friends are taking on these famous Yorkshire Peaks.

Martin & Ian's Leeds to Liverpool Cycle Ride
On Thursday the 29th of August 2024, 2 intrepid explorers (or Daft Lads), Ian Bythell and myself, with a combined years of nearly 120 will attempt to cycle using pedal power only ( no motors) the entire 127 mile length of the canal from Liverpool to Leeds, ducking under 226 Bridges, navigating 91 Locks and probably saying hello to hundreds of walkers during daylight hours in one go. The return train from Leeds is already booked meaning we have no choice other than to succeed. So, please, we are counting in your support, sponsorships or donations to raise some much needed funds for the incredible “Pendleside Hospice”.
Ian’s fund raising page can be found in Just Giving under Petty-real-1718609410869

Matt Heap - Pennine Barriers 50 Mile Ultra
In May I'm running my first Ultra Marathon. The Pennine Barrier. A 50 mile trail and mountain run through the Yorkshire Dales taking on 8500 feet of elevation over the 3 Yorkshire peaks.
If it sounds a little crazy, that's because it is. So I thought I should at least do it for a cause! Pendleside Hospice are absolute heroes. Most recently they took care of my dad's best mate Wilko in the last days of his life so I'd like to donate this run to him. He was a solid dude
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Angela O'Hara London Marathon 2024
As many of you know, I’ve been training for the London Marathon 2024 since the New Year after I was fortunate to get a ballot place and fulfill my dream of completing this challenge.
I am fundraising for a cause that is very close to my heart - Pendleside Hospice. Their dedicated team of healthcare professionals goes above and beyond to ensure that patients receive the physical, emotional, and spiritual support they need during their most challenging times.
I am determined to make a difference by raising £1000 for this incredible organization. Every pound donated will go directly towards providing essential care and comfort to those who need it most.

Joe Hanson - Manchester Marathon 2024
I'm doing the Manchester Marathon on the, 14th of April 2024, in loving memory of my late grandfather, Malcolm.

Harry Pate - Manchester Marathon 2024
I am participating in the adidas Manchester Marathon 2024 to raise funds for Pendleside Hospice. This cause is close to my heart as my family and I experienced firsthand the incredible care and support provided by the hospice nurses during a difficult time. When we lost a beloved family member just before Christmas, the hospice nurses were there for us every step of the way, ensuring that our loved one was comfortable and his needs were met.
Pendleside Hospice provides vital services to those in need in our local area, offering comfort, care, and support to patients and their families during some of life's most challenging moments. By supporting this cause, you can help ensure that these essential services continue to be available to those who need them most.

ImpCom Memorial Marathon
This year, Nathaniel, Ethan, and Jeff are taking on the challenge of running the Manchester Marathon to raise funds for Pendleside Hospice. This endeavor is a tribute to the memory of Eileen Stanton, a beloved wife, grandmother, and mother. This year, Nathaniel, Ethan, and Dad (Jeff) are taking on the challenge of running the Manchester Marathon to raise funds for Pendleside Hospice. This endeavor is a tribute to the memory of Eileen Stanton, a beloved wife, grandmother, and mother.
Eileen Stanton, known to her family as the Imperial Commander, or ImpCom, was both a loving and well loved family member. Unfortunately, they lost their ImpCom. Having been ill for a while, she was diagnosed with cancer and she was placed in end of life care at Pendleside Hospice.
Eileen's son Jeff, the veteran runner of the family, having already completed two previous marathons will be running with Eileen's grandson's Nathaniel, who has run one marathon in the past, and Ethan, who will be taking on his first marathon!
The family are very grateful for the care Eileen received and the support given to Jeff and the family and want to raise as much money as they can by taking on the Manchester Marathon as a family.
If you would like to show your support and wish to donate please visit their Just Giving Page www.justgiving.com/page/nathaniel-stanton-170403934281

The Big FOUR
The Barlow's are back for round two!
Lily was 3 years old when she did the Yorkshire 3 Peaks over the course of three days. She walked up each mountain from point of incline, finishing on Ingleborough in terrible rain! Which didn't seem to phase her in the slightest! Ha!
Our aim was to raise £300 and overall she raised £1000!
This time we are hoping to complete the Ullswater Way in Four Days. 20 miles overall, so approximately 5 miles a day is doable! But tough for little legs! She said she wants to do it though, with an aim to raise £400, can she do it?
If you would like to support Lily in her latest challenge please visit Lily's Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/page/lily-barlow-4

With a love of the outdoors Joe has decided to walk all the Wainwright's - 214 hills, fells, and mountains in the lake district. Having already completed 9, Joe's wife suggested that I should be doing it for charity. So with the help of family and friends Joe will be doing the next 205 fells and mountains, including scafell Pike, England's highest mountain each weekend until all have been completed, hopefully by January 2025. Just one carbon fibre foot after the other.

Nicola is running the amazing Great North Run to raise money for Pendleside Hospice. Nicola said ' I cannot praise all the staff at Pendleside enough who looked after my Dad and made him as comfortable as possible in his last days. They go above and beyond. Their care and compassion is second to none. The care and attention they also gave my Mum and our family whilst holding on to the last days was just amazing, catered for our every need. End of Life care is pretty grim watching a loved one slowly giving in to an envitable death is quite frankly unbearable, but if I can raise a little to ensure that someone else and thier family can be looked after with such dignity as was given by Pendleside, then it's what I will do. No pressure. It's a very difficult time with cash at the minute. But if you can spare £1, you know it's going to an awesome cause'.
