Nelson-based Daisy Group has been announced as the headline sponsor for Pendleside Does Strictly 2024. The generous donation will go a long way in organising the November event which last year raised over £56,000.
We first launched Pendleside Does Strictly last year and were blown away by its success.
The event sees 10 amateur dancers paired with professionals from Sandersons Dance & Fitness who have five months to prepare a show-stopping performance.
Dave McGinn, Managing Director of Daisy, said: “Pendleside Hospice is close to our Lomeshaye-based head office and while I am not from the immediate area, I know a lot of our staff and their families have had support from this incredible place.
“Fundraising plays a vital role in ensuring the Hospice can continue to deliver the vast array of services it does, and we were very happy to support this event. Just don’t get me up dancing!”
Louisa Mayor, Head Of Income Generation at Pendleside Hospice, said: “We are so delighted to have such a prominent local business as our headline sponsor.
“When you walk into Daisy you really feel that sense of family and fun, which is very much what the Strictly event is all about.
“We look forward to working with them on this event and thank them for their years of loyal support for the hospice. It really does make a world of difference.”
This year’s dancers have already been paired up and many have already started their technical and showcase dance lessons at Sandersons.
Their efforts will culminate in a glitter-filled cabaret style event at the Life Church, Burnley, on Friday, November 15th.
Ticket sales will be announced very soon, but Strictly fans are warned not to delay their purchases as last years the tickets sold out within hours.
